I wouldn't say that SEO is not important. In fact, I practice it daily. But I want you to be aware that there is more to what we do than optimizing… We can not get so caught up in some of the strategies that our website suffers.

You can have all the traffic on the internet, but if you don't have a good, solid content site, the traffic will mean little.

Most webmasters are willing to exchange links with each other so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. You’ll soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in to your site from other sites.

A major prerequisite in exchanging links with other sites is having the same niche or content as the other site. Exchanging links also boosts your chances of getting a higher ranking in search engine results – even though it's working better with one way links.

One of the best free possibilities for getting targeted traffic is the use of Startpage Exchanges. The way it works is very easy to explain: You view other people's websites and in exchange, they are viewing the URL YOU are advertising to them.

Start a free Blog

You can start a blog for free on a platform like Blogger.com. By adding exclusive niche content to your blog on a regular basis, you can achieve the same high positions which regular websites are getting. You just have to be careful that you are not choosing a too competitive niche. Then direct that traffic to your main site which has your salesletter to make sales.

What exactly is Tag and Ping?

You may have heard the term Blog and Ping before. That’s a method which was a perfect way to get the search engine spiders coming to your site very quickly. I say “was” because it has become less effective than it was 2 years ago. The search engines do not value blogs that much anymore if they are pinging the blog directories extensively. But you can still get permanent links on these sites if you submit your site to their directories using a tool like my Blog Promoter.

Tagging is another, similar way to drive laser targeted traffic to a website. Basically, tagging means that you want your posts to appear on social bookmarking sites (sites to organize your bookmarks online) under certain keywords or categories aka. “Tags”.

So it’s important that you don’t use it an unethical manner like Sean Wu suggested in his ebook (by means of creating multiple profiles for each of these sites). This will destroy the effectiveness of that method. But used ethically, Tag and Ping and the use of social bookmarking sites in general is a great long-term strategy and will enable you to achieve permanent and long term exposure for your websites and blogs if you’re playing by the rules.
