Louis Allport is revoking resell rights licenses to his video ebooks!

Hi,

I've just got to know that Louis Allport is revoking resell rights to most of his video products which he has been selling in the past. This means that his products will stop working and you won't be able to sell them in the future. It goes not into effect immediately but you are getting 5 months time to download the individual videos.

As you probably already know, most of his products are in ebook format where you are able to access the videos via the links in his ebooks. These links will stop working - that's what this notice is about. Moreover, if you bought his products with the expectation of being able to sell them forever because of the included resell rights license, you'll be disappointed to hear that after Dec. 14, 2007, this won't be possible anymore…

In fact, he has a whole domain name devoted to this where he is explaining the various reasons for his decision:

I don't know how he could do something like this and expect to continue with his business like nothing has happened. Personally, I think, this is a very bad move… You can't sell people products and then, after they have already paid, revoke their rights to view what they've paid for or deny the right to sell these products when they bought it with resell rights.

This could also be a bad decision because he won't be able to sell a lot of new products in the future. I mean, hey, who wants to buy something that he doesn't know will continue to work in 6 months from now…? Would you buy a washing machine from a vendor that has a bad reputation for quality and customer service? I think, this step will kill his business!

If the bandwidth was such an issue then why didn't he just make the videos available as a download only? He also mentions the customer service for people that didn't pay him but one of his resellers and he had to take care for these customers too… But he must have known about the costs and service beforehand and not just as of now.

I always have been asking myself why so many people were able to give his products away for free when in fact these were resell rights products and not products with giveaway rights. This could be one of the reasons why it's taking up so much bandwidth: Because people are watching the videos that didn't even have to pay for it. I know of at least 3 free membership sites where his videos were included, too.

Anyway, my message to you is: If you have any products which were created by Louis Allport and you want to keep the content, then download the videos to your computer. By doing this, at least the content is not lost. But you won't be able to sell them anymore which is a pity as most of his products were in fact very helpful because of the informative content.

P.S.: The page mentioned above has a contact link and if you want to stress your personal opinion about this, then go ahead and let him know….
